Chapter 7: All That Self-Deprecating Nonsence
Ginny Weasley
As the family laid around, groaning from the copious amounts of food we had just stuffed ourselves with I casually offered to give Draco a tour of the house. No one paid us much mind as we quietly left the room except George who was giving me a rather pointed look. I led Draco around, vaguely pointing out the various nooks and crannies as we past them and bringing him straight to my room.
The moment the door was shut I had him pressed up against the wall, our lips meeting in a passionate embrace. He took control, spinning us around so I was the one sandwiched between his warm body and the newly painted wall. I sighed, relaxing at last after the long day. Our arm wrapped around each other and I melted into him. "I'm so sorry about everyone." I whispered in his ear. "They're being incredibly rude and judgmental."
"No! They've been great! I didn't deserve half the kindness they've shown me. I'm just worried that my family won't be half as kind to you tonight."
"I don't care if they hate me. I'll change their minds." I responded, brushing it off. Of course the Malfoy's would hate me. I expected as much. But I expected more from my family, too. Especially my father. Sure Mom was great and the rest of the family wasn't awful, especially after Andromeda came and smoothed things over a bit but dad hadn't spoken a word to Draco since the incident in the green house. "Draco I mean it. I'm sorry about them. I'm really sorry about my dad. He should have been…" I trailed off, unsure of the word I needed. "I'm sorry." Draco held my face in his hands and smiled at me.
"Ginny, don't worry about it. Your family is amazing. I don't deserve you." I rolled my eyes. He had been saying that a lot lately. At first I thought I was an adorable line but now as it became a frequent thing it started to worry me.
"Draco, you don't actually believe that, do you?"
"Are you kidding? You are an amazing, talented, vibrant beauty. You fight for what you believe in and you don't let anyone scare you into obedience. You are clever and witty and you don't take shit from anyone. You are perfection. I am a traitor and a coward. I am nothing. And one day you are going to wake up and realize it and leave me for some hero like Potter or Longbottom or someone just like them. Someone who deserves you." I slapped him as hard as I could.
"You are an idiot. What's more, you are a blind idiot. We are the same. We both fought to keep our families safe. We both had our own prejudices. If you keep me up on a pedestal like this, 'us'is never going to work."
"It's not the same Ginny and you know it. You fought against the darkest wizard of all time and I fought for him."
"And if you were born into this family and I was born into yours this conversation would be happening the other way around. You are crazy smart and loyal and have the biggest heart of anyone I know and you're honest to a fault and you know what? I love you, you prat so stop this self-deprecating routine."
"You actually believe all of that don't you?" he asked casually.
"Yeah, of course."
"Well now I know you're too good for me." I smacked his arm. "Seriously!" He insisted. "It turns out you're certifiably insane and while in most girls I find that a bit of a turn off, it makes you extremely attractive." His arms wrapped around me as he spoke and his tone still bugged me, but I decided I would address it later. It was Christmas after all. I leaned up and kissed him. Hard. "I love you too." He murmured in my ear.

Chapter 8: You and Me Forever
Draco Malfoy
My fingers intertwined in her hair and I inhaled, smelling her sweet scent as my tongue traced the contours of her lips. Her soft moan sent an electric shock down the length of my body as I quivered in excitement. I knew she could feel just how excited I was on her thigh but I was past the point of caring. The way her hands clenched my shirt and pulled me closer made me want to melt into her. I loved this woman. I loved her. I couldn't wait for her to meet my family, I couldn't wait to make her love me as much as I loved her and I couldn't wait to make her mine forever. If I believed for a second that she wasn't about to come to her senses there would be a ring on her finger and we would be looking for a manor house of our own.
But I was getting ahead of myself. We had barely told her family we were dating and my father still had no idea I had a girlfriend at all let alone that she was a Weasley. But it didn't matter. We both had good jobs in our own right and I didn't need his money or his approval. I was in love.
I leaned back against the wall and winced at the slight creaking noise the boards made as our weight shifted. I paused but she frowned.
"What if someone hears us?" I whispered.
"Then they hear. It's not as though we are hiding this anymore."
"Still. I don't fancy having to explain to the big ones what I was doing to their little sister."
"I'll protect you."
"Ginny." I admonished simply. We shouldn't do this here."
"Are you planning on leaving me Draco Malfoy?"
"What!" I sputtered. "Of course not!"
"Well then why do you care if people see us? I plan on doing this a lot in the future and people are going to see at some point. Besides, this entire house creaks. No one is going to notice one little noise. So unless you are planning on leaving me, relax."
"Come on Ginger, I would never leave you. It'll be you and me forever okay?" she grinned happily.
"Very well then." And with that she captured my lips in hers and plunged her delicious tongue back into my mouth. I lifted her up and sighed happily as she wrapped her long legs around my hips. One hand gripped that perfectly round ass holding her weight up (and if we were being totally honest, I was also greatly enjoying feeling her ass up) and the other hand held the back of her neck, pulling Ginny closer to me. Closer. Always, always closer.
"Ginny your mother sent me up here to…" a loud voice interrupted up and I nearly dropped her as the door swung open and a tall red haired man strode into the room. Our eyes met his and the laugh lines on his face disappeared in an instant. I set Ginny on the ground lightly. But I didn't let go when she reached out and took my hand.
"Dad. This is why knocking is always a great idea." She said, trying to joke.
"Mister Malfoy. Take. Your. Hands. Off. My. Daughter."
"Dad." Ginny hissed.
"Sir, I-"
"No. You don't get to speak in my house. You don't get to say another word."
"Dad!"
"Downstairs. Now." And with that he stormed out of the room. We looked at each other wordlessly before following Mr. Weasley down the creaking stairs of the Burrow. Her fingers intertwined with mine.
Mr. Weasley was pacing the kitchen floor angrily and nearly the entire family was staring, confused. When we entered the room all eyes shifted to us.
"Mister Malfoy." The closest that man had ever gotten to growling was this moment. "I believe I told you to take your hands off my daughter." I tried to release her hand but she clung tightly.
"Hey Ginger, I kind of like my face. Maybe you could let go of my hand now?"
"No." she said simply. I glanced at her eyes and saw that fire. That fire that only came out in absolute fury and God have mercy on whomever was engulfed by those flames. I wasn't the only one who noticed.
"Well. If this is going to be that kind of family dispute I'm just going to take your wand for a minute Gin." George Weasley said quietly as he stepped forward and pulled the wand out of her pocket.
"Dad, you're being ridiculous."
"I'm being ridiculous?! I walked in on my baby girl with some boy and-"
"Oh please. This isn't the first time you've seen me kissing someone and-"
"That was not kissing! That was something else but definitely not kissing!"
"Well that 'something else' wasn't nearly as bad as when you walked in on Harry and I without any clothes at all and yet-"
"I'm sorry, what?" I interjected, eyebrows raised.
"Now isn't really the best time for this discussion Draco."
"Hm." I grumbled looking at Potter out of the corner of my eye. He half smiled at me sheepishly as his girlfriend silently laughed beside him.
"Let's be honest Dad. This has nothing to do with the fact that I was kissing someone but the fact that I was kissing Draco." Her father was silent.
"You are forbidden to see him again. He is no longer welcome in this house."
"Arthur." Mrs. Weasley said softly.
"No. This is final. He is never to enter this house again and you are never to see him." The silence was deafening.
"You really only have control over one of those things." Ginny finally whispered. A tear escaped her eyes and I could feel her shaking. She took her wand back from George and summoned her bag. "Happy Christmas everybody." She said, her voice oozing with anger and bitterness.
"Ginny don't." I said quietly. "I'm not going to be the cause of a fight here. I'll go. It's not a big deal."
"It is a big deal. They can accept us or they can watch me walk out of their lives until they learn to. But I'm not watching you walk away because my family is being prejudiced and hateful. It's you and me forever, remember?" a small smile appeared on her face and my eyes beamed down at my beautiful, headstrong girl.
"Always." She turned from me and nodded to her family.
"As I said. Happy Christmas." She pulled me along behind her. Her father's hand reached out and gripped her arm, wrenching her back.
"Young Lady, you aren't going anywhere."
"Ouch! Dad!" Anger flared up in my gut. How dare he hurt her?
"Take your hands off her."
My fingers intertwined in her hair and I inhaled, smelling her sweet scent as my tongue traced the contours of her lips. Chapter 9: My Dragon
Ginny Weasley
Silence echoed around the tiny kitchen after Draco’s words. He and my father were staring each other down intensely. After my father had wrenched me back the meek, demure person Draco had been showing everyone all day had completely disappeared. My dragon was making an appearance.
“Excuse me?” My father’s voice was loud among the quiet. My family was never quiet. There had never been this much silence in the Burrow. “You come, unwelcome, into my house and dare to tell me what to do? This is MY house and MY daughter. You cannot tell me how to treat my own.” Draco stood between me and my father unrelenting.
“She’s a person, not a possession. And as a person she is able to make her own decisions. And as the person who is madly in love with her, I will protect her from harm with every breath I have. This may be your house but you cannot own her. And as for your role as a parent? She’s been an adult for a year and a half now. I think she is perfectly capable of deciding what she wasn’t for herself.”
“Arthur.” Mum put her hand on his shoulder. “You’ve lost your temper. Give yourself some time to calm down. Everything will seem different with some time to process.” She turned to the lot of us. “I think we all need some time to calm down.”
“Fine. You’re right. We’ll leave.” I said taking Draco’s hand in my own. “We’re spending the night with the Malfoy’s if anyone needs to apologize.” And without another word Draco apparated us away.
“Ginny I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have spoken to your family like that.” He begged.
“No, Draco. I’m sorry. They shouldn’t have treated you like that. They’re prejudiced. And I’m really sorry.”
“I meant what I said. I love you. And I will protect you until the day I die. From your dad, or mine.” I smiled. “Speaking of, they know we’re here. If we take too much time heading in they’re going to think-“
“Oh Godric. Right. Let’s go.” He smiled.
“Maybe avoid the whole ‘Oh Godric’ thing.”
“Yeah right! I’m not about to make this easy on you! I will flaunt my Gryffindor status as much as possible tonight.”
“Of course. Why would I expect anything less from you?” I kissed his check.
“Come on my dragon. Into the snake pit we go.”
